I am trying to get in all the Broadway shows that I must see before I leave New York and so far since moving to New York I have seen 35 shows. I still have 20 shows that I want to see, I may not see all of them but I am going to try. So far I have tickets to see 4 of the 20; The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, A Steady Rain (starring Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig, wanna guess why I am seeing this show, hint: it isn't about the plot), and Hamlet (starring Jude Law). I have a great friend, Elise, who is my Broadway buddy and every week we try to get tickets via student rush or lottery. We have yet to not see a show on one of our Broadway nights, knock on wood.
For the month of August I have been in East Hampton for work and drive back to the city every week on my days off to have some fun time. Most people assume the Hamptons are just one town when in reality they are made up of many towns on the South Fork of Long Island, New York. If you consider Westhampton part of "the Hamptons", the Hamptons are a span of 40+ miles and will take you about an hour to maybe 2 hours during the busy season. If you don't consider Westhampton part of "the Hamptons" it is about 25 miles from Southampton to Montauk and will take you about 45 minutes to 1 1/2 hours during the busy season. The house I live in is in East Hampton. Here's a map of the Hamptons for further understanding. It takes anywhere from 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours to drive from Manhattan to East Hampton and vice verse. One day it took me 5 hours to drive to East Hampton due to an accident and construction (not my best day).

When most people find out that I work in the Hamptons and I go to the beach and go swimming, they don't understand that it isn't all fun and games. It is actually work and very tiring work at that. Going to the beach is not relaxing for me, it is actually more stressful than staying home. I don't mind the beach but I DO NOT like the ocean and the Atlantic Ocean is FREEZING. Will likes the ocean and likes to play in the waves so guess who gets to play in the waves as well, me. He normally just goes far enough to get wet up to his knees when the waves comes in but occasionally he misjudges the force of the wave and doesn't move quick enough and gets knocked down. It doesn't happen too often but when it does, it is terrifying for me. When I was a little girl playing in the Pacific Ocean at some beach I remember getting pulled out into the ocean and having trouble swimming back. I was with a friend but we both weren't strong swimmers and I was scared. I think that is where my fear of the ocean started. I am also scared of what is under that water that I can't see, eek! So the beach is nice to have for an activity but it isn't like I go to the beach to enjoy myself and sit and read a book. I am either out watching him play in the water or on the beach building sandcastles or digging holes. Either way I am either cold, stressed, sandy, dirty, hot, irritated, and sometimes all of the above so no the Hamptons and the beach are NOT relaxing and enjoying for me. I mean don't get my wrong it is exciting sometimes and I do have a lot of fun here but the majority of the time I am just working and hanging out at the house while the real residents of the Hamptons enjoy all it has to offer. Other than the beach and swimming we play in the back yard, go across the street to play with Bon Jovi's kids, go into town, take Bella (the dog) on walks and look at all the gorgeous houses where the rich and famlus live, and more.
Okay so there's a little bit more on my life. I'm glad I got to post a little bit. I start school again on Monday so who knows how busy I will be.
Until next time!

I understand why you aren't usually thrilled about going to the Hamptons now. And "playing" at the beach does sound like more work than I do in a week! haha
