Last blog I mentioned I was going home for a short trip. I left Monday night around 6:30pm (NY time) and arrived in Arizona at 9:30ish (AZ time). It was about a 6 hour flight but with the 3 hour time change it was as if it was only a 3 hour flight. Checking in and going through security have never been easier. I think it took me a total of 30 minutes from the time I was dropped off to the time I was through security, it was great. I wish it was like that everytime. Once I was boarding the plane was a different story. I was walking down the thingy (I can't remember what it is called, ugh) and I got stuck behind I guy in a wheelchair. They had to transfer him to his wheelchair to a wheelchair that will fit down the aisles. So that doesn't sound too bad but the guy probably weighed 300 lbs, couldn't use either of his legs and you couldn't even touch his leg which made transfering him a little hard. To add to all of those, the 2 guys helping him were a guy in his late 20's who probably was a 1/3 the size of the man he was trying to pick up and the other man was probably in his 60's and a 1/4 of the guys size. I think it took about 15-20 minutes just to transfer him to the other wheelchair. Finally, they got him in and we were able to move again but wait we then had to wait for them to transfer him to his seat which took another 10-15 minutes JUST to figure out how to pick him up in this limited space up and over the arm rest (the arm rests don't move). Well, they decided this was impossible and moved him to first class and bumped 2 people back to coach. So, it took about 30-40 minutes just to get from the gate to the plane. And then we didn't even take off for another hour because JFK was backed up. So when I finally made it to Arizona I was so happy just to be off the plane. My mom and sister, Mandi, picked me up and we went home where I had my very late dinner (it was 1am NY time). My family just sat around the table talking until really late.
Tuesday, I woke up and was supposed to go shopping with Mandi but I was exhausted (sorry Mandi). The majority of my family went to lunch, everyone but my dad, Wes, and Brandon to Jason's Deli. After lunch I went out with Jesse. We went to the golfing range, it was so much fun. I haven't been golfing in so long and you could tell. I got a few good shots, Jesse tried to help me and he did a little, but it will take a little more than one time to get better. I think when I go home I want to buy my own set of golf clubs and go more often. After golfing we went and got ice cream and then he went shopping with me, I had to get a few things. After that I dropped him off and went to Courtney's house. I was going to Cooper's Tee Ball game and went a little early because Coop wanted me to come over and who would turn down that request. I got to help him get ready and play with him a bit. Oh I miss him so much! Here are some pictures of him playing Tee Ball...

Cooper at bat, if you look closely you can see the ball he just hit.
Cooper running to first after he hit the ball.

Cooper at first. When he reached first he turned around and looked right at Courtney and I and had this face like, "Look what I just did!" It was so cute!
After the game, it was time to go to the Courtney's baby shower. I went a little early to her house and hung out with Coop for a bit while he was getting ready for bed. For some reason we started reading books. I think I read about 5 books to him and them Macie and Emma came over and I was reading to all of them. I loved every minute of it. Afterwards I walked over to Jenny's house for the shower. I was so happy to see my Aunt Dorothy and my Grandma Rudd and so many friends and family members I haven't seen in a long time. Here are some pictures from that night...

After the shower I went to dinner with my friends. We went to Olive Garden, it was nice to catch up with them all. Nothing really new except Curtis and Dani are married now. It was a lot of fun to see them all. Afterwards, most of them came over to my house and hung out. We watched "I Am Legend." Great movie but it was a little weird thinking that was my city. They showed places that I see almost everyday and it kind of creeped me out a little. I didn't like to think of NYC like that.

Somethings never change, boys will be boys!
Wednesday I went shopping with my mom and found a dress. I needed a dress to wear to my boss' sister's wedding. After that, my mom and I went to Chili's for lunch before heading to the airport. Goodbyes are still extremely hard. I hate them, but I can always go home for a short trip like this and get my fill of my familyand friends and really, it won't be long before I am home and everyone is sick of me again.
It was a great trip home. I was exhausted after the trip but it was completely worth it. I can't wait to plan my next quick trip home which might be soon because I am thinking about driving my car out her as soon as I can get a day off, anybody interested in making the trip with me, let me know!! Jenirudd@aol.com. I know I say this all the time but leave a comment or email me to let me know what's going on back home!
I love you all! Take care!
Jeni
