Disney World Spring Break

I think I may have mentioned before that I spent Spring Break at Disney World. It was actually part of my job. It was my favorite job assignment ever! I mean who gets to go to Disney World for free, well not exactly free, you actually get paid for it. It is like I was part of Fantasyland.

It was a great trip, other than the fact that William and Mrs. B both got sick. Luckily, I didn't get sick. William actually starting feeling sick shortly after arriving. He was running a temp of 103 without medication and about 101 with medication. He was a trooper though. I felt so bad for him because he had been so excited about this trip.

We arrived Saturday afternoon and we were greeted by out personal tour guide, I didn't even know Disney World had personal tour guides. Well, Les, our tour guide, picked us up at the airport and drove us to our hotel, which was the Walt Disney World Contemporary Resort. Our hotel room was actually on the Club Level. You had to use your room key in the elevator to get to that floor. We had free breakfast in the morning, snacks in the afternoon, and wine and cheese in the evening. All of the food was available only for the guests staying on our floor. It doesn't even compare to the breakfast you get at most hotels. Everything is laid out really nicely and you get glass plates instead of paper or plastic plates. I got to live like I was rich for 5 days. Our hotel suite was 2 bedrooms and a in the middle was a family/dining room & small kitchen. I shared one of the bedrooms with William for 2 nights and then he slept with his mom for the other 2 nights, because she didn't want me to get sick too. Henry slept on the couch bed in the family room and Mrs. B slept in the other room. Dr. B was only there for the first night and left Sunday evening, he's not much of a Disney fan.

After we dropped off our luggage, Les took us to the Animal Kingdom for lunch. Every meal was at a sit down restuarant because it is the only way we can be sure William gets food that is safe for him. Disney has a wonderful policy for people with food allergies. At every resturant, the chef came out and would ask what he his allergic to and make it himself and then deliver it to us. I was really impressed with Disney and the thoughtfulness for kids with allergies. We first ate at the Rain Forest Cafe. FYI, don't get the ceaser salad for yourself, three people could eat it. Oh and everywhere we went Les drove us and we went into the parks from backstage. The whole time I was there, I only went into the front entrance once, when Henry and I went back to the Magic Kingdom late without Les. It was a completely new experience. So, after lunch, we got back into the car and he drove us closer to our first ride. I personally like walking around the parks and seeing everything, but this helped get more things done and you didn't get as tired so fast. We went on the Safari which was one of my favorite things for whole trip. We also did some minor rides but the next time I go I want to go on Mt Everest. The family doesn't really like thrill rides, Charles does but he wasn't with us and so does Mrs. B, she even said she would go with me but we didn't make it. That night we had dinner at the Tavern in the Magic Kingdom. It was really good. It was served family style and we had turkey, mashed potatoes, yummy rolls, green beans, and I can't remember. Oh and apple pie for dessert. It was so good. Also, some of the characters walk around and sign autographs and take pictures with the family. Goofy game me a kiss, which made William laugh. Afterwards, we went and watched the Wishes firework show. William feel asleep before the fireworks and slept through the whole thing. After Wishes we went back to the hotel to sleep. I still hadn't had a chance to unpack me or William so I was up until 1 or so unpacking and taking a shower.

Sunday morning we went to the Magic Kingdom. It was a lot of fun. My favorite was Buzz, Pirates of the Caribbean, & Thunder Mountain Rail Road, I got Henry to come with me. Henry used to be scared of fireworks and wouldn't even think about going on a roller coaster but went on Thunder Mountain and Space Mountain with me. It meant a lot because he knew how much I wanted to go. The whole time I was treated like part of the family. I am in all of the family pictures and got all of the perks of being a family member. At one point, Mrs. B told me how much they all love me and told me how happy they are to have me with them. It was very sweet, I didn't know what to say, plus I was on the verge of tears because I feel the same way. I love them all and they are my New York family, in no way will they replace my real family but they are family. For lunch we ate in the Castle. I have always wanted to eat in the castle but I never have, it was like a dream come true for a 23 year old. I guess you never really grow up. At one of the gift shops I bought some charms and when I was checking out the lady asked me if these were a gift and I said no they are for me. Well, she then pulled out a princess pen and told me no matter how old you are, you are still a princess. It was nice. Before lunch started we got our picture taked with Cinderella. William had a picture with himself and Cinderella and then the family was taking a picture. I was standing off to the side not thinking that I would be in it, when both Dr. B and Mrs. B told me to get in the picture. It turned out to be a great picture. Well, lunch was good. I had the pot pie, it tasted so good. Oh, just thinking about it makes my mouth water. We also got to meet all the princesses. I went home early that night with William, he really wasn't feeling well.

We went out to dinner to the Hop Dee Do Review. It was at the Fort Wilderness Resort. It is a dinner and a show. The show was great and the food was just ok. It was so funny. William really enjoyed the show, at one point they ask for audience volunteers and the whole family was trying to get me up there. I wasn't chosen but if I was I would have worn a bright pink dress and danced the Can Can. Needless to say I was glad I wasn't chosen to go up on stage.

The rest of the trip was great. William was still sick and would go home early with Mrs.
B while I stayed with Henry at the parks. At the end of the trip I was so exhausted and ready to go home. I can't wait to go back with my own family and experience it with them. Oh and Flordia was beautiful. I would love to go back and do the things I really want to do on my own or with friends or family. Love you all!! I will write again soon, well maybe. I am trying to get some more pictures up but it might take time.
