Only in New York

I got home and I just had to write about my night because it was just ONE CRAZY NIGHT here in New York City. You would never have a night like this anywhere else.

It all started with going to the movies with my friend, Alina. We went and saw Confessions of a Shopaholic. Well, the movie wasn't the crazy part, it was who was in the movie. My boss's ex husband and the father for her oldest sons was in the movie. He was the guy the Hugh Dancy went to to finance his magazine at the bank. It was just crazy, as soon as I saw him I said I know him!! I felt like Buddy the Elf...I know him, I know him. At the end credits I just had to make sure and sure enough it really was him. This was just the start of my crazy night.

The movie ended a little after midnight and Alina and I decided to go check out the midnight party of the Twilight movie release. There really wasn't much left and we didn't stay too long. Apparently, they started at 10pm and had a major rush of teenage girls. It was madness. I am glad I missed that. That part wasn't crazy but I just added that in there for some normalcy.

After that we parted ways and I started to head home. I wasn't sure how I was going to get home just yet, either take the bus, walk, or taxi. I hadn't decided so I just started walking. By this time it is about 12:45am. As I was walking home I decided I wanted a snack so I went inside and store and didn't find anything I wanted so I kept walking. As I was about to pass this group of people one of the guys asked if they could give me a hug. I said, a hug?? He said yeah a hug. I said okay. So he gave me a hug and so did the rest of the people in the group, I got 6 hugs in all. Weird, I know but this is New York. They also took a couple pictures with me giving them hugs. As I am writing this, it sounds even weirder but at the time it was just funny to me. I kept walking down the street, after giving them hugs and I am about to cross the street when another guy asks me for a hug. I gave him a hug and then asked him if he was with the other group. He was and I was very curious as to what these crazy people were all about, so I asked him what they were doing. He said they are a group of people who bring joy to others by hugs or something like that, I don't remember what he said exactly. It was all very funny to me. Thankfully I was in a good mood or I may have smacked them all. After this my night gets even crazier.

I finally found a store to get my snack and as I come out, I decided to just hail a taxi to go home. When I told my driver to take me to Park Ave he said oh goody Park. He was very excited to go to Park Ave for some reason. After I told him where to go, he told me that they made an announcement to all the taxi drivers that some pretty girl would be where I was and needed to be picked up and he was the lucky one to pick me up. He was very nice and funny. He really knows how to compliment a girl. He talked to me the whole trip home which took about 8 minutes. He was telling me stories, half of them I really didn't understand but I just laughed. He was very happy and it is always a great trip when you have a happy taxi driver. He was great. When he dropped me off he told me he will be back tomorrow around here to pick me up. Oh no! I have a taxi driver stalker. Just kidding! It was a wonderful ending to my night.

That was one crazy night!! It may not sound as crazy as it was but it was a crazy experience I don't plan to forget anytime soon.

Goodnight,
Jeni

I had written about my night and went to bed thinking my crazy night was over but low and behold after going to sleep I was woken up by the fire alarm. Yes, that's right my night did not end with the crazy taxi driver. My crazy night kept on going after I went to sleep. At 5:20am or so the alarm went off. It was SO loud and I went downstairs to figure it out what was going on. The box was saying fire and smoke detected but I didn't see anything. I did smell something but we couldn't figure out what it was. The fire department came but they said there was nothing to worry about. Luckily there were no cute firefighters to see me in my pajamas and with bed head :) They left but the alarm kept going on. We called the alarm company but they couldn't turn it off and we couldn't turn it off either. They tried to tell us what to do but nothing was working. Finally my boss just pulled the wire to the smoke alarm for the power even though the alarm company said not to. The alarm did turn off and we were all able to go back to bed. During this all both Charles and William slept right through it. We were all tempted to wake William up to see the firefighters but we never did. I don't know how anyone could have slept through that alarm it gave me both a head ache and a stomach ache. I am glad my night is over and I am really hoping that this is not the start of a crazy day. Now all I need to do it go back to sleep but I'm not sure if I can after a night like that.

That does sound pretty crazy. The craziest part was you actually getting a happy taxi driver that talked to you ... haha. Well, I am glad the huggers weren't trying to mug you or something! Love ya!
